This set of volumes provides comprehensive information covering The Christian Empire to the Close of the Middle Ages. Each volume provides a subject index, bibliography abbreviations, and a general bibliography.

This dictionary includes illustrations, appendices, a subject index and an annotated bibliography of primary sources, and a general bibliography of secondary sources.

Dictionary of the Middle Ages.

From the American Council of Learned Societies, this set of dictionaries provide brief entries, some which are accompanied with illustrations and/or cross-references. Bibliographic information is provided with each entry. A complete subject index is included as a separate volume.

Ref CB353.G7 1980 Porter.
Provides brief entries covering Aachen to Zwentibold, with illustrations imbedded throughout. Included is a list of abbreviations, select bibliographies, a section containing maps, a chronological table, and an index.
The New Cambridge Medieval History.

This set of encyclopedias provides historical information pertaining to Medieval times. A list of maps, tables, plates, contributors, and abbreviations are provided in addition to a complete bibliography of sources consulted.
The Oxford Dictionary of Byzantium.
Ref DF521.093 1991 Porter (3 volumes).
Each volume includes brief entries with bibliographic information and some illustrations. Also included are a list of maps, general abbreviations, bibliographic abbreviations, abbreviations of manuscript citations, biblical book abbreviations, and a directory of contributors.

This work focuses on early to later medieval historiography. It includes footnotes, a complete bibliography, an author index, and terminology index.

Inventing the Middle Ages.

This source discusses "the lives, works and ideas of the great Medievalists of the Twentieth Century." Included in this book is a table of contents, notes, bibliography of sources used, and a general index.

Late Antiquity: A Guide to the Postclassical World.

This atlas covers geographic information from the Early (c.1100) to the Central (c.1100 - c.1300) to the Late (c.1300 - c.1500) Middle Ages. Also provided are maps, a list of contributes, a complete bibliography, and a subject index.

Biographical information about each saint is organized by month, then date. Each entry varies in length and content. Most entries include cross-references and notes. Also provided is a detailed table of contents and a name index.
Medieval Religious Women.

Also known as Hidden Springs: Cistercian Monastic Women. This source provides a historical background on Medieval Cistercian nuns. Some biographical accounts are included and provide information on women from St. Franca of Italy to Gertrude of Helfta. Bibliographies and notes are included at the end of each entry.

Provides bibliographic information with brief annotations of the sources. Source topics range from Theses to Political Thought to Serials. Also included is an index of authors and editors, as well as a topic index.
Year's Work in Modern Language Studies.
Abs PB1.Y45 Porter.
Evaluates critical editions and secondary works. Covers Latin in section I.
International Directory of Medievalists.
D116.5.R46 1990 Porter.
This directory, although somewhat outdated, was produced by the Federation Internationale Des Institutes D'Etudes Medievales. It provides contact information by name and postal address for medievalists world-wide. Also included are a country index and a specialist index.
Medieval Women.

This Web directory provides "links to medieval sources relating to women" and was complied at Georgetown University. It "includes lives and works of medieval women, women rulers and creators, general resources, and bibliographies."

Currently over 2,000 journals published throughout the world are covered in the database, making this a historical periodical database unmatched in breadth.
